The Jackson County Library was open and waiting for people to sample their popcorn and hot cider, fun, and offerings. A raffle was held too.
The Upper Rogue Community Center was ready for everyone with hot chocolate, hot coffee, and mounds of delicious cookies.
The children broke into a rendition of Santa is Coming to Town right as the big moment came close.
Father Christmas arrived right on time courtesy of Fire District 4.
He wished everyone a very Merry Christmas and stopped to talk to all the kids. David Christian from the radio station interviewed him and talked of his plans for the girls and boys who anxiously awaited Christmas.
The full interview and the caroling was heard live on KSHD 94.3 FM.
Then it was time for the tree lighting. Father Christmas led the countdown.
The tree was beautifully lit with more than twice the amount of lights than last year. Father Christmas then took his place on his official picture taking throne and the lines moved quickly as everyone huddled under the tents during the rain. It seems every year we have rain during the tree lighting. But no on ever seemed to mind, they just all had a great time!
