ARE YOU PREPARED?

During certain disasters, such as wildfires or floods, you may need to leave your home to remain safe. The City of Shady Cove has developed an Emergency Operations Plan.  This Emergency Operations Plan is an all-hazard plan that describes how the City of Shady Cove will organize and respond to emergencies and disasters in the community. It is based on and is compatible with the federal and state of Oregon and other applicable laws, regulations, plans, and policies, including the National Response Framework, State of Oregon Emergency Management Plan, and Jackson County Emergency Operations Plan.

HOW YOU CAN GET READY!

A disaster can strike without notice, and evacuations may be issued at any time. You may have hours or only minutes. Take these necessary steps now to prepare yourself and your property.

  1. Know Your Alerts - Sign up for Citizen Alert.
  2. Know Your Zone - Visit www.JacksonCountyOR.gov/KnowYourZone or Genasys Protect to find your zone.
  3. Be Ready - Make a kit, have a plan, and practice it.
  4. Stay together - Please take only ONE vehicle in an evacuation, whenever possible, to minimize gridlock. Prepare your vehicle for evacuation by keeping the gas tank full and parking it facing the street for a quicker departure.
