Hiland Water Update

We have been able to maintain pressure and service throughout the water system so far with the exception of the Hudspeth/Sarma area. We lost power to the booster station when the power went out on Wednesday, I believe. Our operator went back into town to try and restart it but was unable to. My understanding is that an electrician is there working on it right now. Hopefully water service can be restored to residents in the area who have chosen not to evacuate. Regarding fire suppression, the affected zone does not have fire flows in normal conditions. There is one fire hydrant in the zone that we are hoping can be used for fire suppression in the future, but our booster station will need to be upgraded for that to happen. All other parts of the water system are operating normally and our storage tank is basically full.
