Red Flag Warning

The National Weather Service Medford has issued a Red Flag Warning for the eastern part of Jackson County today, August 15th, 2023 from 2 PM to 11 PM today for abundant lightning on dry fuels and gusty winds.

 Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions will be present. Any fire starts could spread rapidly during this time in the warned area.

  • AFFECTED AREA… Northern portion of Fire weather zone 623. Visual attached.
  • THUNDERSTORMS… Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected across the northern portions of these zones this afternoon and evening.
  • OUTFLOW WINDS…Gusts 30 to 40 mph.

Jackson County Emergency Management will be on stand-by and will send updated information as necessary for situational awareness. Please note, if a significant wildfire occurs, the County EOC may activate and County Departments may be called on for support and/or staffing.
